Health and Fitness

In this unit students will investigate what it means to be fit and healthy. We will

learn about the components that contribute to your health and the factors that

influence it as well as ways to improve and maintain it. Students will also develop

further knowledge and understanding of fitness in practical lessons.

Fitness can have an immense effect on your quality of life. Being Fit is not limited

to being a certain weight or being able to swim fastest or run a marathon. Fitness

incorporates a number of components that can be specifically measured and

trained. Some of these components are more closely related to sports

performance and some are related to every day health and wellbeing. 'Being fit'

allows you to meet the physical demands of daily life, as well as a range a range

of activities that enhance your sense of wellbeing and enjoyment for life.
