Students study the technological innovations that led to the Industrial Revolution, and other conditions that influenced the industrialisation of Britain (the agricultural revolution, access to raw materials, wealthy middle class, cheap labour, transport system and expanding empire) and of Australia.
Australia in the Vietnam War era
UNIT DESCRIPTION: Students will develop knowledge and understanding of Australia’s
involvement in the Vietnam War and the context. This includes Australia’s response to the
threat of Communism in Asia and within Australia after World War II,
different perspectives on Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam war and the
impact of the war on different groups in society. INTEGRATED LINKS TO OVERVIEW: THE MODERN WORLD
& AUSTRALIA. · The nature of the Cold War and Australia’s involvement in Cold War and
post-Cold War conflicts (Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf Wars and Afghanistan),
including the rising influence of Asian nations since the end of the Cold
